The installation was completely simple. After reading some other reviews describing tough installation, I still bought this card. I followed instructions - loaded the software before installing the card. Connected immediately.Dell Optiplex GX240. I brought this product less than a month ago, but I didnt get around to installing it (had 2 other working computers). I called tech support (24/7) and after giving then the SN# and model#, I was told that this card is 3 years old, and I should take it back to the store for and updated model or upgrade the firmware. Finally, last night I installed the card following the instructions and tied it in to my router. Received a good reading that everything was set up fine, but could not connect to the internet. Hence I went with the firmware and it worked perfectly. Bestbuy needs to update their products.
Followed the instructions to the letter and will connect sporadically. Wanted this card to take advantage of my RangeMax Router. The card works, but the sofware is horrible. Should have went with a cheaper card.
I installed this card in my new Windows Vista computer and it connected to my wireless Netgear router with no problems. In fact, I already purchased this exact wireless card before for my other computer about a year ago and it still works great. I would highly recommend this product to everyone. Paying no tax and shipping makes this product even better :-)
It does take a little tweaking of the antenna for strongest signals. It is one of 4 wireless connections I use and I have had not any major problems. I purchased it to match up with my Netgear WPN824 Rangemax wireless router. The computer is on the far side of the house from the router over 100 feet, 4 walls and 2 doors away and I still get 54% signal strength. It is connected to a Dell Inspiron running Vista.
